Taking advantage of the villa’s tropical location, the majority of the rooms boast large wood-framed glass doors that can be opened to allow the cool breezes to circulate, thereby ensuring that guests can enjoy the full impact of the surroundings while sheltered from the elements.
This feature also extends to the dining pavilion, which is a portrait of stylist restraint complete with an elegant teakwood dining table and eight chairs.
Encompassed on three sides by glass to preserve the glorious view of the garden, the clever design of this room offers guests the choice of dining in air-conditioned comfort or alternatively opening the French doors to create a semi-alfresco ambience.
A magnificent hand-carved antique wall panel separates the dining room from the fully equipped open kitchen flanked by a marble bar and high stools.
With its spacious and luxurious atmosphere, numerous antiques and fine details, Villa Pangi Gita is ideally suited for hosting small groups of discerning people who want to experience the best that Bali can provide.
The master bedroom features a large dressing room with heaps of cupboard space and drawers.
The majestic bathroom is dominated by an oversized bathtub and bordered by glass doors that open onto a secluded teak verandah overhanging the gentle Pangi River. Guests can open these doors to enjoy the fresh air and the riverside views while luxuriating in total privacy in the tub. The toilet is sited in a private cubicle with a wooden door, and twin vanity units with ‘his ‘n’ hers’ washbasins are positioned against opposite walls.
The verandah is also a great place for a massage, a massage table is available and spa services in the comfort of the villa can be arranged.
Located further back on the property is guest room 1 and 2 which feature a large Balinese queen size bed.
Adjoining each bedroom is a large en-suite Bali-style open-air romantic bathroom with an outdoor shower and bathtub set in a private and enclosed miniature garden. An extra bed is available for your child.
Outside each bedroom you can enjoy the view of the garden from a reading chair or comfortable day bed.
Living Room and Study
Situated in the heart of the property, the open-air living room with its innovative two-tiered cathedral roof, coconut wood pillars and open rafters, is graced with immaculate, white cushioned sofas and a number of splendid antiques.
A Buddha statue resting upon high in a lancet arched alcove, flanked by vases of tropical flowers, forms a striking centrepiece. Indeed, this carefully crafted and decorated room easily earns its place as the nexus of the property, and is ideal for entertaining and relaxing.
Leading off from the living room, and surrounded by a goldfish pond, is a fully enclosed study, providing an air-conditioned sanctuary in which to escape from the tropical heat. The fitted dark wood shelves hold an impressive collection of books, which are freely available for the use of the guests.
The villa possesses a number of precious amenities including satellite television reception, together with an extensive video and music library containing over four hundred CDs.
Pool and Gardens
At the lower part of the garden there is an infinity-edge, kidney-shaped 10 x 4 metre swimming pool, fashioned from green Javanese stone and at the edge of the “singing river” Pangi.
To one side is a Palimanan stone sundeck furnished with six sun-beds and umbrellas, and a sweet scented frangipani tree that drops waxy flowers onto the smooth green lawn. Here, with views of the neighbouring rice fields, guests will be lulled by the serene sound of the running river.
Nearby, and sharing the same vista, is a bale bengong (Balinese relaxation gazebo) endowed with overstuffed cushions, providing another ideal spot for daytime massages. A few metres away a small wooden deck, supporting a lazy chair and table, overlooks the river and rice fields, at a point where the river tumbles over a small cascade.
This is a great spot for bird watching, and the beautiful iridescent blue Java Kingfisher with its distinctive red beak is a common sight.
